This recipe is a healthy way of having fish as shared by Chef Vikas Khanna in one of his popular food shows. He called it the “patrani macchi”. Its fast and easy, all you need to do is mix the ingredients and steam. You can steam it using a microwave, a steamer or just by placing a colander over a pot of boiling water over the flame.Believe me its a must try!!

The recipe details are as given below:

Preparation time: 15 minutes.

Serves: 4 persons.

Coriander leaves: half bunch
Mint leaves: half bunch
Refined/olive oil: 2 tablespoon
Green chillies: 2 or as per taste.
Cumin seeds (jeera): 1 teaspoon
Lime juice: 2 tablespoon
Garlic: 5 flakes
Fish:4 pieces. You can prepare this recipe by using your favourite fish. Pieces with less bones would be perfect for this recipe.

Method:Put all the ingredients in a mixer jar and add the oil and 2 tablespoon of water and grind it into a smooth paste. Now, coat the washed fish pieces in the marination. Now take a banana leaf or aluminium foil, put one piece of fish and a bit of marination and make individual parcels by folding the banana leaf or foil. In case you are using a banana leaf, securly tie the parcels with a string so that the parcels remain intact while steaming. Now steam the parcels using a steamer for 10 minutes or microwave it on high for 6 minutes by placing the parcels on a dish of water.Garnish with a teaspoon of fresh cream and serve hot with plain rice.

Tips: Marinating and keeping aside the fish for 10-15 minutes before steaming would infuse the aroma of garlic and mint in the fish.
