Refined flour / Maida : 3/4 cup
Cocoa powder/ Drinking chocolate powder : 2 tablespoons
Eggs : 2
Baking powder : 3 teaspoon
Refined Oil : 150 ml
Milk : 150 ml
Sugar : 150 grams
Salt : a pinch
Coffee powder : 1 teaspoon
Tip : The secret to make a perfect cake is the accuracy of the measures. I recommend you to use measuring cups and spoons readily available in the market or can be purchased at any online shopping site for perfect baking.
In a bowl sieve the flour, cocoa, salt, sugar and baking powder. In another bowl, whisk the eggs, oil and milk together till it becomes fluffy. Now slowly fold in the flour mixture and fold in one direction clockwise so that the whole mixture combines into a smooth texture. In a small bowl mix the coffee powder with 2 tablespoons warm water, add to the mixture and fold again.
Grease a microwave safe cake dish or silicon mould of about 20-25 cm with a little oil and dust a little flour. Now slowly pour in the cake mixture in dish and microwave on HIGH for 5 minutes. Check with a toothpick. If the toothpick comes out clean then the cake is ready other microwave on HIGH for another 1 minute. If you overcook the cake will become hard.
Your chocolate sponge cake is ready to be served.
