This is a great tea time recipe for vegetarians which can be relished by both kids as well as elders. It’s so quick that you can easily offer to your sudden guests.

Preparation Time : 25 minutes
Serves :  2-3 persons


Soya nuggets/ Mealmaker : 1 cup
Hung curd  : 2 tablespoons
Ginger garlic paste : 1 teaspoon
Red chili powder : 1/2 teaspoon
Cornflour : 2 tablespoon
Garam Masala Powder : 1/2 teaspoon
Refined oil for shallow or deep frying
Salt as per taste

Method :

In a bowl soak the soya nuggets in hot water for 10-15 minutes. You can also pressure cook the raw nuggets in little water till  1 whistle. Now,  squeeze and remove the excess water and keep aside.

In another bowl, make a marinade mixing the hung curd, Cornflour, red chili powder, salt and Garam Masala with a little water to form a thick batter.

Mix in the soya nuggets in the batter so that each nugget is coated with the batter. Let it marinate for about 15  minutes so that the nuggets absorbs the flavor. Now heat oil in a pan and add the nuggets one by one. Deep or shallow fry on the nuggets on medium heat until golden brown. Drain excess oil in a kitchen towel and enjoy the crispy nuggets.
