This is one of my favorite side dishes cooked with potatoes rather than the regular Potato bhaja/ bhaji/ stir-fry or mashed potatoes. You can have it with roti or rice and daal.

Preparation Time : 15 minutes
Serves : 4-6 persons

Ingredients :
Potato : 4-6 large (cut into dices)
Black Mustard seeds / Rai : 1 teaspoon
Asafoetida / Hing : a pinch
Turmeric / Haldi powder : 1/4 teaspoon
Whole dry red chili : 2
Curry leaves : 10-15
Cumin / Jeera seeds : 1/2 teaspoon
Cumin / Jeera powder : 1 tablespoon
Coriander / Dhania powder : 1 teaspoon Refined / Mustard oil : 4 tablespoon
Red chili powder : 1/4 teaspoon
Garam Masala : 1 teaspoon
Grated Coconut : 4 tablespoons
White Sesame seeds / Til : 1 tablespoon roasted
Coriander/ Dhania leaves : 2 tablespoons chopped
Salt as per taste

Method :

Peel, wash and cut the potatoes into dices. In a bowl add the potatoes, Cumin, coriander, red chili powder and Garam Masala. Mix well.

Heat oil in a pan and add the mustard seeds and Cumin seeds. As it starts cracking add the Asafoetida, Turmeric, whole red chilies and Curry leaves. Mix well and add salt. Cook for 7-8 minutes uncovered until done. Add the Sesame seeds and coconut,mix well.

Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
