This is an easy cake recipe that will bring much appreciation from your guests. Tastes best when served with tea or coffee.

Preparation Time : 30 minutes
Serves : 10-12 persons

Ingredients :
Butter : 2 cups
Powdered / Castor Sugar : 2 cups
Vanilla essence : 1 tablespoon
Eggs : 5
Refined flour / Maida : 2 cups
Baking powder : 1 teaspoon
Chocolate Sauce : 1/4 cup (you can also use cocoa powder mixed with a little water)

Method :

Grease a baking dish with butter, dust little flour and keep aside. The dish should be enough big so that the cake batter covers 75% space.

In a bowl, beat the butter and sugar with  hand or an electric beater till fluffy. Now add the eggs one by one and continue beating. Add in the vanilla essence. In a separate plate, sieve the flour and baking powder and slowly fold in to the egg mixture mixing in a clock wise direction. Mix only till the flour and egg mixture is folded thoroughly, do not over fold.

Now pour half the mixture in a baking dish and pour in a little chocolate sauce. Make marble designs with the help of a toothpick. Pour in the rest cake batter. Tap the dish so that mixture sets properly.

Preheat a oven and bake for 20 minutes. Check out with a toothpick whether it is cooked thoroughly or bake for another 5 minutes. You can bake the same for the same time in a Microwave at Convection mode. Once baked, let it cool, cut into pieces and serve with tea or coffee.
