The most common part of a dinner or lunch course along with daal, rice and roti is a quintessential Sabzi. This cabbage or bandh gobi sabzi is an accompaniment that can be served with your main course.
Preparation Time : 15 minutes
Serves : 4-6 persons
Cabbage / Bandh gobi : 1 small (roughly sliced)
Onion : 1 large sliced (optional)
Peas / Matar : 1/2 cup
Red / Green Chilli : 1 (roughly chopped)
Black Mustard seeds / Rai : 1/2 teaspoon
Salt as per taste
Turmeric powder / Haldi : 1/4 teaspoon
Garam Masala : 1/2 teaspoon
Coriander / Dhania leaves : 2 tablespoons
Refined / Mustard oil : 3 tablespoons
In a kadhai, heat oil. Add the black Mustard seeds and turmeric powder. Once the mustard seeds starts crackling add the cabbage, peas and salt. Mix well and sauté on high flame for 2 minutes. Now cook covered on low flame until the cabbage is cooked.
Add in the Garam Masala, Coriander and chili. Mix well and serve hot with rice and daal or roti.
