A very common, easy and yummy snack which is prepared in almost all households is the Vegetable Pakoda. You can add your favourite veggies and create your own variation. This recipe is my variation and for sure tastes great!!!
Preparation Time : 15 minutes
Serves : 4-6 persons
Gram flour / Besan : 1 cup
Salt as per taste
Water as required
Baking soda : 1 teaspoon
Refined oil for deep frying
Garam Masala : 1/2 teaspoon
Turmeric powder / Haldi : 1/4 teaspoon
Onions : 2 large finely sliced
Cabbage : 1 cup finely sliced
Coriander / Dhania leaves : 1/2 cup chopped
Green chillies : 1 tablespoon chopped
Chaat masala : 1/2 teaspoon
Heat oil in a pan or kadhai for deep frying the Pakoda’s.
In a bowl, combine the sliced onions, Cabbage, coriander, green chillies and besan. Mix well with hand. Add in the salt, turmeric, Garam Masala and soda. Sprinkle water little by little and mix well with hand. Do not add too much water. The besan paste should be enough wet to coat the onion and Cabbage mixture.
Now take spoonful of the batter and fry in the hot oil till golden brown.
Drain excess oil. Sprinkle chaat masala and serve hot with tomato ketchup.
