Preparation Time : 50 minutes
Makes : 12-15 ladoos
Gram flour / Besan : 2 cups
Clarified butter / Desi ghee : 1/2 cup
Sugar : 1/2 cup, powered
Cardamom / Elaichi powder : 1/4 teaspoon
Heat the ghee in a pan or kadhai and add the gram flour. Sauté over low flame till you get a aromatic fragrance of roasted besan. This will take about 30 minutes. The color will change to light golden brown. Remove from heat and allow the mixture to cool completely.
After the roasted besan is completely cooled, add the sugar and cardamom and mix well with your hands. Now take small quantities of the mixture in your palm and shape into tight round balls. In case the besan falls apart, you can add a teaspoon of melted ghee and make the balls. Remember to press with your fingers and make the balls really tight so that it does not falls apart easily.
Your besan ke ladoos are ready to be served!
