Fruit Custard

One of the easiest dessert you could ever make to treat yourself and your guests is the luscious fruit custard. I usually make this dessert by using Brown & Polson Vanilla custard powder but you can use whichever brand is available in your city. You can almost all seasonal fruits available like strawberry, watermelon, pear, cherry, papaya, mango, oranges, banana, kiwi, apple, pomegranate and many more.

Preparation Time : 20 minutes
Serve : 4 persons

Ingredients :

Milk : 500 ml
Vanilla Custard Powder : 3 tablespoons
Butter : 1 teaspoon
Sugar : 4 tablespoons OR
Sugarfree Natura : 2 tablespoons
Assorted Fruits : 2 cups, chopped.

Method :

Boil the milk in a saucepan along with the sugar. Stir and keep boiling until the sugar dissolves completely into the milk. #Incase you are using Sugarfree, you need to add it at a later stage.

Take the custard powder in a small bowl and add 1/2 cup of water. Mix well to make a smooth paste and make sure there are no lumps.

Now remove the saucepan from the flame and add the custard paste into it. Keep stirring the milk constantly while adding the paste or it will form lumps in your custard.

Put the saucepan again on flame and cook for 2-3 minutes, stir continuously as to avoid forming lumps in the custard.

Switch off the flame. #In case you are using Sugarfree then this is the right time to add it. Mix well and let the custard come to room temperature.

Now fill the serving glasses or bowl with the chopped assorted fruits as much as you want. Pour the cold custard on the top of it and serve it at room temperature or refrigerate it until you serve. Garnish it with a few chopped fruits. Tastes best when served chilled.
